A phone triage
Our admissions process begins with a phone call. Our admissions coordinators are available around the clock to answer calls from those struggling with addiction or loved ones who have family members or friends struggling. During this initial call, coordinators will complete a brief and confidential survey for the patient.
Survey questions are meant to help admissions coordinators ensure that the person meets the facility’s eligibility criteria. The Recovery Village Umatilla is an acute facility, so it provides a level of care that might not be right for everyone. These questions are meant to help coordinators ensure that those who come to the facility are in the right spot, prepared to get the help they need.
An in-depth assessment
We support integrated assessment, as defined by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. That means each patient goes through an intensive screening process with a counselor, including:
- Spotting a mental illness or ruling out a co-occurring disorder
- Finding out how willing the person is to make changes
- Defining the strengths the person has, when it comes to recovery
- Identifying issues that could stand in the way of recovery
Once screening is complete, therapy teams can develop a comprehensive treatment program that addresses the strengths and challenges faced on the road to recovery.

We accept most major health plans to help you pay for your drug rehabilitation treatment. Feel at home, before you arrive. Traveling to an unfamiliar place for recovery can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. We’re with you every step of the way, regularly communicating with you throughout your travel.

Build a family-away-from-family. Like any kinship, recovery requires openness, honesty, and willingness. Before treatment can begin, our staff will work to assess your current state through key assessments to best develop your individualized treatment plan.

Any information disclosed must be done with the written consent of the client prior to discussing any information following all requirements according to HIPAA guidelines. Upon arrival at The Recovery Village Umatilla each client is given the opportunity to complete all necessary releases of information to provide the ability of staff to discuss important information with those that the client feels are important for continuity of care. No information will be disclosed to any party without the written, documented consent of the client.
